Dortmund's Transfer Window Analysis

With the departures of players like Mats Hummels, Iikay Gundogan and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, it seemed like Thomas Tuchel had a mountain to climb because these players were the key members of the squad for the past couple of seasons. 

They were the crucial first team players who contributed plenty during their stay in the club specially Mkhitaryan, who scored 11 goals and provides 15 assists in the 2015-16 Bundasliga season for Borussia Dortmund which is the most assists by any player in the bundasliga.

 Matt Hummells who was the club captain played played 7 seasons with Dortmund before moving to the bundasliga champs and his childhood club Bayern Munich. It was very hard for Borussia Dortmund to cope with such a situation and fill these vacant spaces but so far they have done pretty well in the transfer market in order to replace quality players with the same attributes.

 With the re-signing of their former player Mario Gotze 23, from Bayern Munich, it seems like the hole that had been created by the depature of Hernikh Mkhytaryan to Manchester United has been filled with this versatile German international, who promised a lot during his three years at Bayern Munich, though 2015-16 season was by far not his best season because of the injury problems but still he has a lot to offer with the age of just 23 and can demolish the opposition with his speed and creativity. He will provide new spark in the midfield and the much needed energy. With the signing of 22M pounds, in my view, he is a serious bargain who at times could be sold for more than 35M pounds with the potential he has got and he certainly fills the position of the departed makitariyan.

 They need to sign one center back who has the capacity to replace Mat Humells and they actually signed Marc Bartra from Barcelona but still I feel they need to have a defender like Hummels so that they can challenge Bayern Munich for bundusliga title.

 Otherwise with the signings of Ousmane Dembele 19,  Emre Mor 18 , Mikel Merino 20, all three have a bright future and already having a reputation of becoming future stars and with Andre Schurrle, they can achieve big things in the future and trophies are not far away from them with the squad they have. 

Thomas Tuchel, who really impressed me in his first season in charge of the club and bring the club back in the Champions League where they actually belong. His chrismatic leader style helps the club to move in the new direction.
