Bayern Munich won the
German Super Cup against Borussia Dortmund by 2-0 for the first time since
2012.
In a fascinating encounter, it was Bayern, who came out on top with the
second half goals from Arturo Vidal and Thomas Muller seal the win.
Dortmund had
chances but they were not good enough to finish those chances, while Bayern
took the opportunities that comes in their way. Although Dortmund started the
final with the brighter side as the defenders Javi Martinez and Matt Hummels
had some work to do in the early moments.
The best chance in the first half
fell to Arturo Vidal, who’s powerful header was denied by Roman Burki from
point-blank range.
Dortmund almost took the lead in the second half in the 50th
minute but Passlack was denied by Neuer. Eight minutes later Vidal makes it 1-0
for the Bayern, which Muller doubled it in the 79th minute to seal
the victory for Bayern Munich.
