First gameweek of the new La Liga season has just been ended and we have seen some exciting football including 10-goal thriller between Sevilla and Espanyol and Luis Suarez hat-trick. Here are the five things you didn't know about this weekend's La Liga actions.
- Luis Suarez picked up where he left of last season as Barcelona thrash Real Betis 6-2. The striker scored his second straight hat-trick. That's now 17 goals in his last six games.
- Nine different players were in the score sheet in Sevilla's 6-4 thriller against Espanyol, the most ever scored in a single La Liga game.
- It's the case of unlucky number 13 for Real Sociedad. Real Madrid's 3-0 moving them into two victories of equaling their record 15 games win streak set 55 years ago.
- Top flight new-comers Alaves did their best to keep out Atletico Madrid in their 1-1 draw. Goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco faced staggering 19 attempted shots before Kevin Gameiro breaks the deadlock.
- Ruben Castro walked away with a personal milestone for Real Betis despite their defeat. The 35-year old is the first player to score from the direct free-kick against Barcelona at Camp Nou since Duda strike in 2011.
