It's been long time since Arsenal are behind for the signature of Shkodran Mustafi but Valencia are now set to demand a whopping £50m from them for the center-back.
Valencia are seeking to raise funds from the sale of Mustafi to launch a bid for Chelsea's Pedro.
After that demand, Arsenal are now looking for other targets as well as they have considered West Brom's Jonny Evans and Atletico Madrid's Jose Gimenez, but both alternatives neither seems formidable targets for them.
Altough it'd be staggering to go for such a money to be paid for a defender but desperate times calls for desperate measures and who knows as Mertesacker and Gabriel are both injured, it is likely that Arsenal will go that to cover up the defensive vows.
On the other hand, if Valencia are seeking to raise funds they have to lower their asking price, as Mustafi is not worthy of that much asking price, although he is a commanding and dynamic defender but it is a sum that will put off plenty of suitors, including the Gunners.
