Laurent Koscielny scored the equalizer before the end of the first half with spectacular fashion. His stunning overhead kick beats the goalkeeper Fraser Forster to level the score before half-time.
Arsenal dominated after the break but failed to break down the Southampton defense, and the Gunners were lucky not to concede as Shane Long missed some good chances lately. Wenger brought in Sanchez and Giroud for the remaining half hour to change the course of the match. Both teams had plenty of chances and it seems likely for a draw but in the injury-time with almost no time left on the clock, Fonte and Giroud tangled inside the Southampton penalty area and the referee pointed to the spot.
Cazorla putted the ball in the back of the net to seal all the valuable three points for the Gunners who registered their second win on the trot.
