Barca Edge Past Sevilla in the First Leg


Luis Suarez and Munir El-Haddadi’s goals in the second half separated the two teams in the 2016 Spanish Super Cup 1st leg as Barcelona beat Sevilla by 2-0.

It was a hard fought victory for the Catalans but they manage to find a way to as they always does.

Sevilla was pressing high in the first half and does not allow the opposition to open up with their passing, having the ball and making it impossible for the opposition to take possession of the ball. The only good chance the visitors had in the first half came through Luis Suarez shot in the first few minutes, which Sergio Rico saved very well. Other than that, there was no significant display from Barca to scare the opposition.

On top of that, they had to lose Jeremy Mathieu and Iniesta through injury in the first half.
First goal come in the second half with move started from Denis Suarez, who’s lob pass finds Arda Turan and the Turkish then passed the ball with his chest leaving Suarez with an easy finish.


Munir Haddadi’s goal proved decisive in the closing minutes as he ends the move with a calmly finish. The silverware is closer for Barcelona as they the second leg will be played on Wednesday at Camp Nou.
