Another Temporary Home for Campbell

Costa Rican international and Arsenal winger Joel Campbell joined Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon on a season-long loan.

The 24-year old winger has made 30 appearances for Arsenal in the last season and despite his best efforts, his four goals for the Gunners could not gain the confidence of Arsene Wenger and he decided to loaned him for yet another season.

Sporting is his fifth loan spell since joining Arsenal in 2011, as they previously sent him to Lorient, Real Betis, Olympiakos and Villarreal.

Arsenal injury concerns and lack of depth and quality in the wings left us surprised about the player being loaned as Alexis Sanchez is the only quality in the wing. Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Serge Gnabry and Alex Iwobi have issues with injuries and consistancy over the past years and Joel Campbell really improving in the wings side in the last season.

For Campbell, he has the chance to play in the Champions League as Sporting finished second in the last season and this is the indication that Campbell future might be somewhere else like Sporting but not at the Emirates.
