Burnley Sign Defour On a Club Record Transfer

Burnley announce signing of Belgian international Steven Defour from RSC Anderlecht for a club record undisclosed fee.

The 28 years old has signed a three-year contract at the club and becomes the fourth signing for the Clarets this summer.

46 international capped player had initially won two domestic title during his time at Standard Liege before moving to Portuguese giants FC Porto. He also won the Portuguese title twice before making his switch back to his homeland with Anderlecht.

Defour is delighted to join Burnley and wants to prove in the top-flight in English football.

He said: “I hope I can bring my experience to the team and the club to stay in the Premier League. It is a new challenge for me, but I like that”.

There is no doubt his experience will certainly be benefited for the Clarets and there is a wide open chance that they will do good things with this fellow. Defour will wear number 16 at Turf Moor.
