Luis Enrique has reached his century win as Barca manager in a 1-0 win away at San Mames against Atletico Bilbao. The only goal came midway through the first half through Ivan Rakitic's header who heads home from Arda Turan's cross from the left. That's now two defeats in a row for Atletic Bilbao as they are searching for first win of the season.
Atletico Madrid in spotlight as they draw again in their second match of the season against the newly-promoted Leganes. Just two points out of two, Rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona already four points ahead early on in the season as Simone side struggling to find the net against the newly promoted teams in their opening two games. Only goal they scored was in the first half, which Kevin Gameiro scored on a penalty spot.
Morata scores first time for Madrid in his second stint for them as they beat Celta Vigo 2-1 through late winner from Ton Kross.
Sevilla and Villarreal played out a goalless draw as goalkeeper Serigio Rico performed heroics to keep Fran Esriba's men at bay. The Yellow Submarine show no sign of Champions League exit as they were unlucky to draw the match despite best team on the pitch for quite a while. Sevilla who won their first match by 6-4 came close to finding the net in the closing minutes of the match when Pablo Sarabia struck the post direct from a corner.
But it is newly promoted Las Palmas who came into the spotlight after the weekend as they are the table toppers in the early La Liga table. They have taken maximum six points after hammering Granada 5-1 at the Estadio de Gran Canaria. The Canary Islanders, who were the surprise victors against Valencia by 4-2 again look potent up-front with a fine display of football early on in the season.
