Cricket Australia Take Three Young Uncapped Paceman To South Africa Tour


Cricket Australia have announced the 15-man squad for the upcoming one-day international tour of South Africa including a trio of uncapped fast bowler.

Victoria's Chris Tremain and South Australia pair Joe Mennie and Daniel Worrall selected for the tour which starts with a one-day match against Ireland on Sep. 27 before the five match series against the hosting Proteas.

Pace spearheads Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood have been rested for the tour but batsman Aaron Finch is included despite breaking a finger in the last one-dayer against Sri Lanka.

Selectors chairman Rod Marsh said in a media release: "Chris, Joe and Daniel all had terrific summers last year and have also impressed us during the recent Australia A series with consistent performances".

Three players Nathan Lyon, Usman Khawaja and all-rounder Mouses Henriques have been omitted from the squad that defeated Sri Lanka 4-1 away. Young batting talent Travis Head has retained in the squad after playing every match against Sri Lanka.

           Steve Smith (captain), David Warner, George Bailey, Scott Boland, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, John Hastings, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Joe Mennie, Chris Tremain, Matthew Wade, Daniel Worrall, Adam Zampa.
