Late drama in the Group F match of World Cup 2018 qualification as Adam Lallana's last minute goal against Slovakia gives Sam Allardyce first win as manager of England manager in his first game in charge. Sam Allardyce will be relieved after the late win, his team rescued all the points when a goalless draw looked likely.
Slovakia were without their regular wingers Vladimir Weiss and Ondrej Duda due to injury, Robert Mak and Dusan Svento were called upon to flank, striker Michel Duris as a result. Merik Hamsik in midfield and former liverpool defender Martin Strtel captained the team.
Eric Dier and Jorden Henderson were Big Sam's preferred duo in midfield with center-backs John Stones and Gary Cahill behind them and Ronney captaining the side. New Torino keeper Joe Hart started between the post ahead of Alex McCarthy and Tom Heaton.
The first half between the teams were a dull a dull affair. England had the possession but little chances came in their way. The Three Lions received a boost when in the second half Skrtel stamped on Kane and earned a red card in the 55th minute. Allardyce throwing Alli in the hunt for goal but their was a lack of spark in the England side with nothing to really cheer about.
England nearly took the lead in the 75th minute, when Adam Lallana's shot smashed against the post. The drama was complete when one final attack from the visitors was successful, as Lallana popped up from close range to steal all the three points.
It was a poor performance in truth by England but they somehow manage to win the match. However, Allardyce team showed preserverance and broke Slovakia hearts with one final sucker punch.
