Netherlands No.1 Joined Camp Nou

Netherlands international keeper Jasper Cillessen has completed his move from Ajax to FC Barcelona.

Cillessen leaves Ajax after five years at the club, having joined from NEC in 2011. During his time at Ajax, he won three domestic titles with the club.

He has opted a new challenge for him and it is not easy for him to fill the boots with the likes of Chilian international Claudio Bravo, who are set to join Manchester City. Bravo has been a vital player for Barcelona for the past couple of seasons, helping Blaugrana to win two titles and his presence between the posts was very important for the club.

Cillessen now has to battle hard to find his place at the first team in Barcelona as highly rated keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen surely set to be given more chance this term.

Cillessen has been making steady improvements during his time at Ajax and has become the most reliable keeper over the past couple of seasons. Since 2013/14, he has highest number of saves in percentage, 81%. There are some areas he needs to improve on and most notably when it comes to physical tussles with defenders and claiming crosses.
