Paris Saint-Germain
midfielder Benjamin Stambouli is all set to leave PSG in this summer transfer
window, as Spanish club Real Betis favorites to sign the Frenchman.
Benjamin Stambouli 26,
joined French champions from Tottenham Hotspur for around £6m last summer.
After the arrival of new
coach Unai Emery and new Polish midfielder Krychowiak, as well as emergence of
youth academy products Christopher Nkunku and Lorenzo Callegari, Stambouli
feels his time at PSG is up after just one season, after seeing such competition
in the midfield area.
The Frenchman has been
linked with a move away with Real Betis seems the likeliest destination and
Schalke also desire for his services.
Reports suggest that PSG
are looking for a fee of around €8m and a permanent transfer but Real Betis
wants to sign him on loan with an option to buy.
Stambouli was in the squad
in the 4-1 Trophy des Champions victory over Lyon but was left out of 19-man
squad for the 1-0 victory over Bastia in the season opener.
