Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 have signed highly rated Ukrainian midfielder Yevhen Konoplyanka on a season-long loan from Europa League Champions Sevilla.
Konoplyanka signed for Los Rojiblancos last season, but he does not appear to be in the first team plans of new manager Jorge Sampaoli. As a result, Sevilla have agreed to let player leave Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan to join his new destination Veltins Arena.
According to L'Equipe, Schalke signed him on season-long loan with an obligatory purchase option of €16m at the end of loan, if they wish to sign him permanently.
Schalke have struggled in the creative department even since Julian Draxer leave the club last season for Wolsburg and chances are that the Ukrainian star will be a welcoming addition to the squad.
This summers prove to be very busy transfer window for Schalke as they add some quality players in the squad with the likes of Naldo, Breel Embolo, Coke, Abdul Rehman Baba, Nabil Bentaleb and Benjamin Stambouli all arriving at Veltins Arena this summer.
